The unit is fully dedicated to Anti-terrorism and responsible for gathering information about any internal and external threat to Bangladesh and counterattack. CTIB are considered by many the Bangladeshi equivalent to the Cuerpo de Fuerzas Especiales of Mexico and US Army Special Forces.
